How to use the LinkedGov wiki!

Main page

The main page could actually be situated on the linkedgov.org website - where different journeys can be presented in a more intuitive way than what a wiki allows.

The website can provide access directly to highlighted areas of the LinkedGov core such as the gamification framework, the Google Refine extension, the question site - which is what people will be mostly interested in - not "Technical Documentation > Architecture" - which is where those pages are found on the wiki:

Structure

Here's another nice diagram to glance over (node size = content length):

The main areas stem from "Technical Documentation" ("Architecture", "RDF" and "Interfaces and UX") as well as the "To do lists" section which houses all of the task pages.

The main issue with the current structure is the overlap between "Architecture" and "Interfaces and UX".

Realistically, they'll be sharing quite a lot of the same pages, so the question is how do we include the architecturally related stuff and the interface stuff on the same page for any of the LinkedGov components that have an interface.

A solution could be:

E.g. for the "Google Refine Extension" page - this should actually be the child of "Architecture" (along with menu page, gamification framework, question site etc), but should also have a heading/page beneath "Interfaces and UX", that describes the different interfaces for the extension, with links to their specific pages - as well as including a backwards link to the main "Google Refine Extension" page which exists beneath "Architecture".

So basically a smaller, 'screenshotty' version of the main components page will exist beneath "Interfaces and UX" with a link back to the main "architectural" page.

As for the task pages, I think beneath any header or page that's related to a task, there should be a standardised See ALPHAXXX_XXXX_XXXX link for ease of navigation.

This could lead to a number of standardised wiki links for each header/page e.g.:

== Importer ==

Tasks:
ALPHA001_Importer
Interfaces:
Extension/index__page
Extension/project__page
Policies:
GT001_Data_licensing

There are other areas of the wiki to think about, such as the main page, the to do lists, how "RDF" fits in.
